Agost, municipality of l'Alacantí, is a village with just 4,700 inhabitants, so it retains the charm to be a small, quiet village, close to the coast and the sea. Agost is proud of its customs and traditions, deeply rooted in the population, which keeps them alive and shares them with all those who come to the village, therefore, it will welcome you to live nature, gastronomy and of course, the historic pottery tradition, which is felt in many of its corners. From the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century, pottery industry was the economic engine of the town, leaving an indelible mark. The potters elaborate pieces with their great skill in the lathe, protected by an ancestral knowledge, handed down from generation to generation. We will discover Agost and all its traditions on a route through the historic center, with a guided tour through its most emblematic streets, where the first pottery workshops were installed, including a visit to the Pottery Museum. We will try typical local products in a typical lunch and we will become artisans for a day in a mud and potter´s wheel workshop.
